I know everyone loves the new visitor center at the Grand Canyon, but I think the old displays were way better for showing the actual rock layers.

Actually the old visitor center had a big problem with faded labels and broken lights. The new one uses actual rock samples you can touch next to clear diagrams. It's less about being shiny and more about letting people see the real thing up close. The old displays were behind glass and got really hard to read over the years. This new setup is way more hands-on for learning the actual geology.

You're right about the old displays being better for the rock layers. I see this everywhere now, where new designs look clean but actually hide the real details. They replaced the detailed soil map at our state park with a shiny touchscreen that just shows pretty pictures.
