My grandma's leftover soup rule vs. what I do now
Tbh, my grandma would never let us toss the stale bread or the ends of celery. She had this rule about simmering everything into a broth, and I thought it was so extra back then. Now I'm 34 and I literally keep a bag in my freezer for veggie scraps, and I made a killer minestrone last Tuesday with just that and some canned beans. Has anyone else found themselves turning into their older relatives when it comes to fridge scraps, or am I the only one with a designated scrap bag?
