Why does nobody talk about setting a hard stop on client calls? I billed for 2 hours of 'quick chat' last month.

Watched a buddy of mine get burned by this last year. He does freelance design work and a client would always ask for "five minutes" that turned into forty. He finally started saying his next meeting was in fifteen minutes, even if it wasn't true. It felt weird to him at first, but it cut those "quick chats" down immediately. His billing got way more accurate after that.

Used to think that was dishonest, but seeing how much time it saves changed my mind.
