My great aunt's 'famous' tomato aspic recipe is a total waste of good gelatin

I spent $12 on fancy beef gelatin and a whole afternoon making it, only for it to taste like cold ketchup soup with celery bits. Who decided savory jello salads were a good idea? Has anyone actually had a version of this that didn't taste awful?

Try a good recipe with fresh herbs and a sharp vinaigrette layer.

Sharp vinaigrette is key, cuts through the richness perfectly. A little chili or garlic in it can really wake up the whole dish. Makes cheap ingredients taste way more expensive.

Thought it was a weird old person thing until my grandma's friend made one with shrimp and hot sauce, actually decent lol
