TIL pruning lavender in autumn helps spring flowers
Trimming my lavender plants last fall got them much bushier with more blooms this season.

But wait, isn't fall pruning risky for lavender? I was told that if you cut it back before winter, the fresh cuts can get damaged by frost. Mine always bounce back better with a light trim in early spring instead.

Alice, how bad was the frost damage after fall pruning?

Yeah, totally agree with that. I tried fall pruning once and lost like half my lavender over winter. Now I just do a quick tidy up in spring and it comes back way stronger.
