Convinced my light meter was broken forever. A sunny day test proved it was fine, and I got the exposure just right.

What if the sunny day test just hid a bigger problem?

Classic light meter stuff right there. Mine pulls the same drama queen act every few months, convincing me it's finally given up the ghost. I'll waste a whole afternoon trying to figure out what I did wrong, checking every setting twice. Then I take it outside on a clear day and it works perfectly, like nothing ever happened. It's the camera gear version of a car making a terrible noise until you get it to the shop. Guess they just need a little sunshine and attention sometimes.

Always figured those old light meters were just finicky, but your story hits different. I guess they really do just need a good dose of sunlight to wake up. Makes me less quick to blame myself when gear acts up.
