Switched to auger digging after 8 years of hand digging post holes

I used to hand dig every single post hole for residential jobs around Portland. Last month I finally rented a tracked auger for a 200 foot fence on a slope with clay soil. The difference was insane, I finished the digging part in about 3 hours instead of 2 full days. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed their back not hurting as bad the next morning?

Rented a one man auger for my first fence job on some rocky clay soil and spent more time unjamming rocks than actually digging. 3 hours of that and my arms felt like they were gonna fall off. The tracked auger is a game changer though. My back went from hating me to just mildly annoyed the next morning.

The tracked auger solves the wrong problem if your soil's full of rocks. Should have grabbed a manual post hole digger and a digging bar instead. Way less fighting with jammed bits and way more actual holes in the ground.
