My client said my sample dress looked like a 'sad potato sack' and honestly, she wasn't wrong.
I was so focused on the drape I forgot about shape, so I added some strategic darts and a waist tie. Has anyone else gotten a brutally funny critique that actually improved your design?

Brutal honesty cuts through design fog better than any gentle feedback. A client once called my color palette "hospital waiting room chic" and they were absolutely right. That sting made me rethink everything from the ground up.

That hospital waiting room line from @tarahart is so good it should be a preset in design software. It gives you the exact problem and the exact feeling to avoid.

Why do we only get this clarity from strangers?
