Got into a spicy convo at the hoof care workshop last weekend

Everyone was hyping up corrective shoeing for every issue, but I pushed back. I saw a pony with navicular thrive after we switched to just trimming, and the owner's face was priceless when it trotted sound. It was awkward when the instructor called me out, but I stood my ground. Sometimes less is more, imo.

Ever notice how animal care trends swing back and forth? My aunt's old mare went barefoot for years and never had a lame day, but everyone told her she was crazy. Makes you wonder what else we're getting wrong...
