Showerthought: My biodegradable wax strips went rogue during a client's treatment
I've been working to make my spa more earth-friendly, so I swapped to these new biodegradable wax strips. During a busy afternoon, I was doing a bikini wax and the strip just peeled right off on its own. It flew across the room and stuck to the wall like a weird decoration. My client and I couldn't stop giggling as I tried to peel it off without leaving a mark. The strips are made from some kind of corn fiber, and I guess they don't like the heat from my warmer. It turned a simple service into a slapstick comedy bit. I'm committed to being green, but this was a bit much. How do you handle the hiccups when switching to sustainable tools?

Did you try adjusting the warmer temperature for those corn fiber strips, or was it more about how you pressed them on? I've had similar stuff happen with other plant-based materials where they just don't stick right if it's too hot. Maybe it's just me, but I'm wondering if you found a specific trick to make them behave.

See this a lot with sustainable swaps, they never quite work like the old stuff right away. You just gotta laugh and tweak your method until it clicks.
