My mentor told me to stop using alcohol-based toners on dehydrated skin - I fought her for 3 years

Jenna at the salon near my old apartment kept saying my 70% alcohol witch hazel was wrecking the moisture barrier on my clients with rosacea. After finally switching to a glycerin-based formula 6 months ago I've seen way less redness and way more repeat bookings for follow up treatments. Anyone else have a product they were stubborn about and later realized was causing more harm than good?

Every situation is different though. I've been using a 50% alcohol witch hazel on my own combo skin for years and my barrier is fine. Maybe the issue was the rosacea or how often they were using it, not the alcohol itself. What kind of glycerin formula did you switch to exactly?

Yeah I used to think alcohol was always bad in skincare but this made me rethink that.
