Just had my steam machine hose blow out mid-facial last Thursday
I was doing a deep pore cleanse on a regular client when the main hose on my tabletop steamer split right at the connector. It sprayed hot water and steam all over my station, and I had to quickly shut it off and apologize. The machine is only about 8 months old, so I was pretty surprised. I ended up finishing the treatment with just warm towels, which worked okay but wasn't the same. I'm torn between ordering a whole new, more expensive unit or just trying to find a replacement hose part. Has anyone else had a steamer fail like this, and what brand did you switch to?

Honestly, that kind of thing feels like it's happening with everything now. Tbh it's not just steamers, it's like every appliance or tool is built to barely make it past the warranty. You invest in something for your work and it just falls apart on a random Thursday. Makes you wonder if buying the more expensive one is even worth it, or if they're all using the same cheap parts inside.

Planned obsolescence is a lazy excuse. You probably just got a lemon or didn't maintain the unit properly. A good brand should last years if you take care of it and use filtered water.
