A client in Phoenix asked me to skip the steam during her facial last month
She said her skin felt tight and dry after it every time. I've always been taught that steam is a must to open pores before extractions. But her skin looked calm and clear after we did the whole treatment without it. Now I'm wondering if we push steam too hard for some skin types. Has anyone else had a client ask to cut a classic step like that?
Ugh, totally. I used to force a ten-step routine and just dreaded washing my face. Switched to a cleanser and one serum, maybe a moisturizer if I remember. My skin actually got better because I wasn't stressing it out every night. If the steam step feels like a hassle, skip it for a week and see what happens.
