Our core switch had a silent failure at 3 AM last Tuesday
No alerts, no errors in the logs, just suddenly dropped half the VLANs on a 3750 stack. Spent two hours physically rebooting each switch before we realized one had a bad power supply that was still showing green. Has anyone else had a switch lie to them like that?

The ole "still showing green" lie is the worst. Yeah, we had a 3750 do exactly that, light was green and everything but half the ports were dead.

Rebooting it mid-day fixed ours. No joke, just a power cycle.
