That control wire trick everyone does is going to fail on you
I keep seeing guys in my shop stripping the old Otis controller wires with diagonal cutters instead of using the proper Klein strippers. The problem is that nicking the copper just 2 or 3 times creates a hot spot that WILL crack after about 6 months of vibration. I caught a unit on the 12th floor last Tuesday that had already snapped clean through at a nick point. Has anyone else had a close call from cut marks on those 18-gauge signal wires?
