A talk with my inspector about old Chicago conduit made me check my work

I was pulling wire in a 1920s building downtown and the inspector, Mike, said something like 'you know they used to run these without boxes, just continuous pipe.' I always thought that was just a story, but he showed me a spot where they had. It made me double check all my own box fill calcs on the job. Has anyone else run into that kind of old work and had to adapt their plan?

Continuous pipe" sounds like a nightmare for inspections now.

Ugh, tell me about it, imagine trying to find a single leak in that mess.
