Finally got my mailbox setup right after 3 attempts

I kept having neighbors put their flyers in my box even though I clearly labeled it. Turns out writing "No Flyers" in sharpie on the inside lid actually works, been 2 weeks without a single one.

I actually read a study a few years back about how handwritten signs get way more attention than printed ones. Something about how our brains process handwriting as more personal and direct. @bettym89 you're right that the red sharpie probably helps too since color draws the eye. I tried a printed "No Flyers" sticker first and people still ignored it, but a friend told me to just use a marker on the lid. Never thought it would work that well but here I am a month later with a clean mailbox. Funny how small things like that make such a big difference.

oh the sharpie trick is smart, I did the same but wrote "No circulars or junk mail" in red and it's somehow worked better than the printed signs I bought online, maybe people just pay more attention to handwritten stuff
