I tried running the cutterhead at half speed on a muddy job last week
Thought it would save fuel and reduce wear, but it actually packed the suction line solid in about 20 minutes. Anyone else ever mess with running speeds and get burned by the mud?

Respectfully, running slower just lets mud settle before it hits the pump.

A buddy of mine tried going slow once, @evan_anderson, and his pump clogged right up.
