Can we talk about the 4 hours I wasted trying to unclog a cutter head with a bent wrench?
After fighting a sand clog on the lower Mississippi for 2 days I finally walked over to the shop and found the 6 foot pry bar that solved it in 3 minutes... has anyone else spent way too long on the wrong tool before?

Oh man, the butter knife story killed me. I think it's easy to forget that sometimes the wrong tool is actually the right tool, but you just don't have the right version of it yet. Like, a bent wrench can be a pry bar in a pinch, but a dull butter knife is just a sad spatula. It's pretty funny how we'll fight something tiny for hours before we admit we need to walk a full 50 feet to get the bigger, simpler thing. Maybe it's a pride thing, idk. Once I spent 20 minutes trying to jam a flathead screwdriver into a hex bolt before I saw the socket set sitting right next to it on the bench.

Had a buddy spend three hours with a butter knife before realizing his neighbor had an impact wrench.
