Appreciation post: My dredge pump ate a chunk of rebar in the Mississippi last month
We were pulling up silt near St. Louis and the whole thing just shuddered and died. Had to shut down for a full day to cut the impeller free with a torch. Anyone else had to deal with surprise metal in the mud?

That's the Missouri River near St. Louis.

Ever wonder how much cargo that river moves in a year? Barges are still hauling grain and coal right past the Arch every day. Kinda wild to think about all the history that's floated down that exact spot.
