PSA: My $20 caulk saver tool saved me from a total bathroom disaster last Saturday

I was redoing the bathroom caulk around the tub and had a tube of silicone go bad on me mid-job. The stuff was lumpy and wouldn't come out clean, so I had to scrape off the whole bead and start over. Lost about 30 minutes and wasted $8 on that tube. On the flip side, I grabbed a little caulk saver plug from the hardware store for like $2 and it kept the next tube fresh all week. Which side are you on - do you spend the extra money on a good caulk gun or just use the cheap stuff and hope for the best?

Used to think it was overkill. Not anymore.

$2 plug saved my whole weekend too. Cheap caulk guns are the devil.
