Hot take: you don't need a $600 router for your house

Overheard a neighbor bragging about his new triple-band gaming router and how he 'needed' it for his apartment. I'm still running a $40 used one from a garage sale and my streaming hasn't skipped once. What's the most you've ever spent on a router that was total overkill?

Bought a $250 "gaming router" three years ago because I thought it'd fix my lag in Rocket League. Turns out my potato laptop was the problem the whole time. Now it's just a fancy paperweight that glows red.

Does it at least make your desk look more serious with that red glow? I spent $200 on a "low latency" keyboard once, only to find out I was just bad at timing my shots. Now it's a very expensive way to type sad messages to my teammates.
