Pex vs copper for a basement redo, I picked wrong the first time
Renovating my basement in Columbus and had to choose between PEX and copper for the new water lines. I went with copper because my dad swore by it, but after wrestling with soldering in tight joist spaces for two days I wish I had just used PEX. The copper line already developed a small pinhole leak near a hanger last week, probably from the hard water we have here. I'm thinking of tearing it out and going with PEX-A, but has anyone actually had copper last 50 years without issues or is that just nostalgia?

Did you check if that pinhole is actually from a grounding issue with nearby electrical?
