My bathroom tile job turned into a two week project because of one wall

I thought redoing my small bathroom floor would take a weekend. The main area went fine, but the wall behind the toilet was way out of square. I spent three days just trying to cut the tiles to fit that weird angle. I went through a whole box of tile trying to get the cuts right with my wet saw. In the end, what I planned for two days took me fourteen. Has anyone else had a simple tile job get totally messed up by a bad wall?

Honestly that "way out of square" wall is just part of the job. Tbh you should always check for that before you even buy the tile. Sounds like poor planning caused the extra time, not the wall itself.

Used to think checking walls was a waste of time until I hit the same problem. Now I know that one wonky wall can wreck your whole schedule if you don't plan for it. I measure everything twice before I even mix the thinset. It adds maybe twenty minutes at the start but saves days of headache later. That extra step is just part of doing the job right.
