I was cutting baseboard trim wrong for years and didn't know it
My dad always taught me to measure and cut each piece one at a time. Then I watched a guy on a job site in Tacoma cut all his inside corners at a 46-degree angle instead of 45. The joints fit perfectly with no gap, no caulk needed. Anyone else pick up a weird little trick like that from watching someone else work?

Forty-six degrees sounds completely wrong for a miter cut.

I had to cut a weird angle for a window trim last year and my saw was set to 46.5 degrees. @leo603, sometimes the math on the wall just works out that way. It fit perfectly in the end.
