Changed to wool insulation and my home got better
Fiberglass was a bad pick. Itchy skin all the time. Bad air in the house. Looked into natural stuff. Chose wool from sheep. Bought a bunch online. Put it up last weekend. Now the attic feels safe. Heat stays in longer. My cough is gone. We need to stop using junk materials.

Your story about fiberglass is rough, like the skin and air problems. It's scary how many homes use things that can make people sick. Wool is a good choice because it's natural and deals with dampness better. I wonder if you'll pay less for heat or if it holds up for years. Did you check out other natural things like shredded paper or cork before wool? What was the toughest part when you installed it yourself?

My fiberglass days left me itchy enough to scare a sheep, @anna_roberts, but I somehow installed the wool without ruining it.

I mean, wool is fine I guess but saying we need to stop using "junk materials" is a bit much. Fiberglass works for most people and is way cheaper, that's why it's everywhere. My uncle's house has had it for twenty years with zero problems. Maybe some batches are bad, but calling for everyone to switch seems like a big jump.
