Tried coworking in a library instead of a cafe in Austin last week
I got tired of buying $7 lattes just to use the wifi, so I headed to the downtown public library. Turns out the connection was way faster and I found a quiet corner with actual power outlets. Saved me about $30 over three days and I got way more work done. Has anyone else tested out library spaces for remote work? How do they compare to regular coworking spots?

Oh man, libraries are the secret weapon nobody talks about. I tried the whole cafe coworking thing once and spent like $15 on a single sad muffin and a latte before realizing I could just walk two blocks to the library and get free coffee from the vending machine. My productivity shot up too because there's no barista blasting pop music or someone's zoom call happening two feet away. Plus I got to pretend I was a Very Serious Academic instead of a person who just needs wifi to scroll through spreadsheets. The only downside is I almost fell asleep in one of those giant beanbag chairs last week, but that's more of a me problem than a library problem.

Wait, wait... @the_brooke, are you sure that library has free coffee? Most I've been to don't have vending machines with coffee, just water or snacks... The Austin downtown one definitely doesn't. But yeah, libraries are way underrated for getting work done without spending money on overpriced drinks.
