Just realized my travel router was the bottleneck this whole trip

Been hopping between hostels in Lisbon for 3 weeks and blamed every slow connection on the buildings, but a $25 travel router I grabbed in Porto turned my 4 Mbps cafe wifi into a solid 30 Mbps for video calls. Anyone else ever check their own gear before blaming the local network?
