Old trick I forgot about - got me out of a bind on a 6.0 Powerstroke

I was chasing a no-start on a 2005 F-450 over in Albany last Thursday, pulling my hair out for like 2 hours. Finally remembered an old timer showed me years ago - unplug the ICP sensor and see if it fires. Sure enough it started right up, got a new sensor on it and ran perfect. Any of you guys still use that trick or is it too old school now?

Try swapping in a known good ICP before you buy new, or have you had bad luck with aftermarket ones acting up later?

Man that trick is OLD SCHOOL but it still works like a charm on those 6.0s. Nothing makes you feel like a genius quite like unplugging a sensor and watching a dead truck fire right up. Of course the opposite is true too for me at least. I've spent 3 hours chasing a no-start only to find out I left a plug loose or something stupid like that. At least with the ICP trick you look like you know what you're doing instead of like a guy who forgot to close the hood all the way.
