Learned my 2006 iPod Video is worth more than my car payment, thanks to a wiki page
I was digging around an old repair wiki and saw that the last firmware update for the iPod Video dropped back in 2008, yet people still flash custom Rockbox builds onto them to this day. Anyone else keep a dead device alive just because the fan-made support is better than what the company ever gave us?
Man, Rockbox on those old iPods is still the best upgrade you can do, way better than anything Apple ever put out for them. Just swap the drive for a compact flash card while you're in there, the stock hard drives die and the battery lasts way longer with solid state. Do that and it'll outlive half the stuff in your house.
