Spent $40 on a 'haunted' mall tour that was just a guy with a flashlight
Went to check out the old Sunrise Galleria in Ohio, saw a flyer for a 'paranormal investigation tour' for $40. The 'guide' just walked us around the empty food court with a cheap flashlight, claiming he felt a 'cold spot' near the old Orange Julius. We spent two hours listening to him talk about energy fields while I just wanted to see the dead anchor store. Anyone else run into these weird cash grabs at abandoned spots?

That cheap flashlight probably cost more than your ticket to a real ghost hunt.

Actually, a decent flashlight is maybe twenty bucks. Those ghost tour tickets can run fifty or more easy.

Real ghost hunt" assumes there's a fake kind. That's the whole point. The gear isn't for finding ghosts, it's for the experience. A cheap flashlight in a dark building feels real to the person holding it. Paying for a tour just means someone else holds the flashlight for you.
