The dumb alarm clock app I kept ignoring turned out to be a keeper

I've been running my old Palm Tungsten as a bedside clock for years, and last month I finally tried the built-in alarm app instead of my phone because the kids kept grabbing my phone at night. It woke me up with this gentle beeping and no ads, and I found the snooze button is huge and easy to hit half asleep at 5:30 AM. Anyone else got a gadget feature they slept on for way too long before giving it a real shot?

Heard about those sunrise alarm clocks from a buddy who swears by them. Says he hasn't hit snooze once since he got one. All that time I spent fiddling with custom ringtone combos on my phone, and the old Palm just does the job. Funny how that works.

Honestly, the Palm Tungsten's alarm was actually pretty solid for its time, but that gentle beeping is a lot quieter than most modern phones. Tbh, my old BlackBerry had a feature like that, plus a physical mute switch that I only found years later when I was messing with it for fun. Ngl, it took me forever to realize the bedside clock app on my tablet had a sunrise simulation option, which beats any beeping for me. Just goes to show, sometimes the boring built-in stuff is the best.
