A stranger's quote at a bus stop broke my stubborn streak

Last month I was waiting for the 42 bus outside the library and this older guy was muttering about his knees. He looked at me and said, "Pain is just information, not a verdict." I had been ignoring my own wrist pain for almost 2 years, telling myself it was nothing. The next day I finally booked an appointment and it turned out to be early tendonitis. Three sessions of PT later and I can type without wincing. Has anyone else had a random stranger's line snap them out of their own head?
