Two-factor authentication saved my account after I got phished at a coffee shop in Austin

I was grabbing some work done at a noisy coffee shop off South Congress last month. Connected to their open wifi, clicked a link that looked like my bank's login page. Typed my password in before I realized the URL was off. But I had two-factor on with an authenticator app, not SMS. They couldn't get past it even though they had my password. Changed everything right after. Has anyone else had a close call like that where 2FA actually stopped something?

That's exactly what I'm saying about people tapping "allow" on anything. I got a text that looked like it was from Netflix last year about my payment failing, and I almost clicked the link before I noticed the sender had a weird area code. Two factor saved me too when someone tried logging into my email from a random IP in another country, I got the alert and locked everything down before they could do anything.

The way people just tap "allow" or "accept" on anything that pops up is getting wild. I see it at my apartment complex all the time with people clicking random links in texts about package deliveries. Two factor is basically the only thing standing between most of us and getting wiped out because nobody reads URLs anymore. Good on you for having the authenticator app instead of SMS, those SIM swap horror stories are getting common.
