That coworker who 'fixed' my password manager setup cost me 3 hours today
My teammate Dave (you know the type, always bragging about his homelab) convinced me last month to ditch my password manager and just use a text file encrypted with GPG. Said it was more 'secure' since it's offline. Today I needed a login for a client portal during a support call and spent 3 hours fighting with key expirations and encoding issues before I gave up and reset everything. The ironic part is his setup probably works fine for him, but for someone on a help desk jumping between 5 machines it's a nightmare. Anyone else ever take advice from a power user that totally backfired in a real work setting? What did you switch back to?
