Read somewhere that most people are better off with a free manager and a decent backup plan. Which one did you go with?

Buddy of mine went with a free manager from Wealthsimple just to see what would happen. He threw a small amount into it and paired it with a basic emergency fund at a high-interest savings account. Worked out fine for him since he wasn't moving money around or trying to time the market. What did you end up picking?
