Ran out of receipt paper during a 12 person rush at the returns desk and I felt like a genius anyway
Last Tuesday at the store I work at in Toledo, our only receipt printer jammed right as a line of 12 people formed at the return counter. I stood there for about 30 seconds with everyone staring while the screen kept flashing an error code, then I just started writing return confirmations by hand on sticky notes and handing them out. The manager walked by and laughed but it actually worked, and I got through the whole line in 14 minutes without a single complaint. One lady even said the sticky note was easier to read than our normal receipts. Has anyone else had a register or printer die mid rush and had to get weird with it?
