A customer in Boise tried to return a plant they bought three years ago

I was working the garden center register at the big box store, and this guy comes up with a completely dead, dried out cactus in its original pot. He had the receipt from 2021, which was wild. He said it 'just stopped growing' and wanted a full refund. I had to explain our 90 day plant guarantee about five different ways. He got pretty loud, so I called my manager over. She actually offered him a 20% off coupon for a new one, which he took after grumbling for another minute. Has anyone else had to deal with a return that was just completely out of the time frame?
