My biggest paying subscriber ghosted after I switched from weekly to daily uploads, and I only found out why 3 weeks later
Back in February I had 47 paying supporters on my page and the top one was throwing me $25 a month, which honestly kept the lights on some weeks. I got it in my head that posting every single day instead of once a week would blow things up, so I made the switch on a Monday and pushed out 19 videos in 21 days. Three weeks in, that top supporter canceled without a word and my total dropped to $31 a month overnight. I finally DM'd him and he said the daily stuff felt like spam and he never had time to actually watch any of it, so he just stopped caring. I went back to weekly and he came back within a week, which told me way more than any growth chart did. So my real question is, has anyone here actually made daily posting work without burning out or losing the people who pay the most?
Doesn't this happen everywhere in life, where more of a thing just makes people tune it all out? Same way you stop noticing the five daily emails from a store you actually like, and pretty soon you're deleting them without even reading the subject line. @jason73 already learned that the hard way with daily uploads, and your top guy basically told you the same thing without using those words.
Did you ever look at the numbers for how many of those 19 videos people actually watched? I read a piece a while back about how fans of a creator only have so much time and attention to give, and when you flood them with stuff, they end up skipping all of it instead of picking one thing. That sounds like exactly what happened with your top guy. It is not really about daily vs weekly, it is about whether the people paying feel like they can keep up. Some folks can pull off daily if the posts are short and easy to digest, but if each one is a chunk of time, you are basically asking your best supporters to do homework every night.
