Chose Patreon over my own website, gave up 30% for peace of mind
I spent 6 months building a custom membership site with paid plugins and stripe integration, then realized I was spending more time fixing bugs than making content. Switched everything to Patreon last month and my subscriber count actually went up, people trust the platform more. Sure I lose 8% to fees plus payment processing, but my weekly uploads are finally consistent. Has anyone else traded platform ownership for sanity and seen better engagement or am I just lazy?
