A guy at VidCon Austin showed me his $3 thumbnail trick and my click rate went up 40 percent
I was at VidCon in Austin last weekend standing in line for coffee and the guy next to me ran a gaming channel with 200k subs. He pulled out his phone and showed me his thumbnails all use the same trick, one giant face on the left, big text on the right, nothing else. He said he stopped paying a designer $50 per thumbnail and just does them in Canva in 10 minutes now. I tried it on my last 3 videos and my click rate went from 4 percent to 5.6 percent. Anyone else make their own thumbnails or is hiring a designer still worth it?
