Visited a job site outside of Phoenix last week...
I was out near a solar farm installation outside of Phoenix last week, and I swear the ground was so hot the crane tires started sweating. The operator had a cooler full of ice towels and was swapping them out every hour just to keep going. What's the weirdest thing you've seen on a site to beat the heat?

My nephew works out at a big solar farm near Blythe and he told me about this trick they use with old bed sheets. They soak them in water and drape them over equipment and even themselves to get some evaporative cooling going. He said it looks like a ghost town out there with all the sheets flapping around. The heat out there is no joke, and crews gotta get creative. I read somewhere that some sites are even using those misting systems you see at outdoor concerts now just to keep workers from dropping.
