Hot take: I think the old style friction brakes were better than modern disc systems
I ran a Grove GMK from 2005 for 6 years and never had a fade issue, then I hopped in a 2020 Liebherr last spring and the discs glazed over on a heavy pick in the heat. Has anyone else noticed the older stuff just feels more predictable on long lifts?

The 2020 Liebherr pads are way too aggressive for hot weather picks. Bring back the old sintered bronze.

Oh man, I feel you on this one. In my experience, those Liebherr pads just don't handle the heat at all. I switched to them last spring and had nothing but trouble when the temps hit 80. The old sintered bronze was way more forgiving and predictable in my opinion. Your mileage may vary of course, but I've been running the same setup for three seasons now and the bronze ones just work better overall. Really hoping they bring that old compound back, it was a solid choice for most conditions.
