Bought a $250 headset for the cab and it's a total game changer
I got tired of yelling over the engine and radio chatter on a big site in Dallas. Spent about $250 on a noise-cancelling headset with a built-in mic that plugs into my two-way. The difference is night and day. I can hear the signal person crystal clear now, even with a tower crane running nearby. My neck isn't sore at the end of the day from craning to hear. Has anyone else tried a specific headset setup that worked for them?

What brand did you go with? I've been thinking about getting something like that for my own setup. The cheap ear piece I use now cuts out all the time when the backup alarms are going off. It would be so much better to just hear the instructions without all that extra noise.

Got the same cheap earpiece problem last year. Upgraded to a Plantronics model and it actually blocks the backup beeps. Makes a huge difference when you can hear the foreman clearly.
