Unpopular opinion: I gave up on Stardew's fishing minigame for 2 years, then one YouTube tip fixed it in 5 minutes
I swore the fishing bar was rigged and just bought all my fish from the traveling cart instead. Then a commenter told me to tap the button instead of holding it, and I cleared 4 legendary fish in one weekend on my Switch. I was so mad at myself for dodging the whole skill for so long. Now fishing is my wind-down thing after work. What's the one cozy game mechanic you avoided for way too long?
Did you ever fight through the fishing in the old NES game, The Legend of Zelda? I avoided the combat shrines in Breath of the Wild for months because I kept dying to the little test robots. What finally helped was watching a short clip where someone just used a spear and kept his distance instead of charging in with a sword. Once I saw that, it clicked in about ten minutes and I ended up doing all of them. Funny how one tiny tip can flip a whole part of a game from dread to fun.
