DAE lose a whole Saturday trying to figure out why a bleach client's hair was grabbing orange at the roots?
Had a new client come in 2 weeks ago who said her last color was done at a salon in Tacoma, and when I applied the lightener her roots went bright orange in under 10 minutes while the ends stayed dark. I panicked and did the whole rinse, reapply, tone thing for 3 hours before I finally asked her what she'd used at home. Turns out she was spraying a leave-in with metallic salts on her scalp every night, which explained the weird reaction at the root only. Has anyone else run into metallic salt spray causing this? I need a better way to screen for it at the consult because that Saturday is gone forever.
