Stopped by the old RadioShack in my hometown and they still had a bin of IDE cables.
Made me think about how much simpler some of the hardware was to explain to customers back then. Anyone else miss the days when you could just point to the one big ribbon cable that needed to be plugged in?

Remember my buddy trying to build his first PC? He put the IDE cable in backwards and couldn't figure out why his hard drive wasn't showing up... took him like three hours to notice the red stripe.

My cousin Sarah once spent an entire weekend troubleshooting her CD-ROM drive because she plugged the IDE cable into the floppy controller by mistake.
