Spent $3,200 on a thermal drone for roof inspections and it either saves me 3 hours per job or crashes into a tree

Half the guys I know say it pays for itself in six months, the other half swear they get better results walking the roof with a moisture meter, which side are you on?

Man I've put two drones into trees this year alone. Feel your pain.

Honestly both sides have a point but I think the drone pays off if you're doing big commercial flat roofs where walking takes forever. The moisture meter guys aren't wrong though, I've caught stuff with a meter that my thermal camera totally missed because the sun had already baked the roof dry. Ngl the crash risk is real though. I learned the hard way that you gotta spend the first week just flying in open fields learning how the thing handles before you even think about using it for work.
