I found out how many people actually read comics at my local library

I was picking up a graphic novel hold at the downtown branch last Tuesday and got talking to the librarian. She told me their monthly circulation for the comic and graphic novel section is over 800 items, which blew my mind. That's just one branch, and it's mostly adults, not kids. It really showed me the hobby is way bigger and more normal than I thought, just quieter. Anyone else surprised by how many regular people are into comics around them?

Did you know my dentist has a whole shelf of manga in his waiting room?

Wow, that's actually really cool to hear! It's like what @calebh90 said about his dentist, these things are just everywhere now if you look. I've started noticing graphic novels on co-workers desks and in cafes, it's totally normal now. The library number makes sense because it's a cheap way to try new stuff without dropping thirty bucks. Makes me happy to see the hobby getting so common.
