Strange fruity flavor in my usual coffee blend.

Brewed my regular beans this morning. Got a strong berry note I've never tasted before. What causes this?

That's wild, berry in coffee?

People get worked up over the smallest things. We put butter in coffee now, some folks even add salt. Is a berry really the breaking point? It’s just a flavor, not a crime.

Hold up, it's not about getting worked up. Coffee has its own taste that deserves some respect. Adding a berry flavor just crosses a line for me.

Check the roast profile or how the beans were processed. Natural or honey processing often leaves fruit sugars on the bean. That berry note is probably from the coffee, not an added flavor.
